This policy is a starting draft prepared for Westoceanic Services' review. Please confirm or amend the specific commitments below before this is treated as the company's approved HSE policy.
1. Policy Statement
Westoceanic Services is committed to conducting all operations in a manner that protects the health and safety of our employees, contractors, clients, and the communities and environments in which we operate. We believe every incident is preventable, and safe operations are a condition of employment and a condition of doing business with us.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all Westoceanic Services personnel — including deployed rig crew, technical staff, and office employees — across all onshore and offshore locations in India, the UAE, and any other jurisdiction in which we operate, as well as to subcontractors acting on our behalf.
3. Objectives
- Eliminate work-related injuries and occupational illness through proactive risk management.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable HSE laws, regulations, and client-site requirements.
- Minimize environmental impact across all deployments and supply activities.
- Continuously improve HSE performance through training, audits, and incident learning.
4. Roles & Responsibilities
Management sets HSE objectives, allocates resources for safe operations, and reviews performance regularly.
Supervisors ensure work is planned and executed safely, that PPE and procedures are followed, and that hazards are reported and addressed without delay.
All Personnel are responsible for working safely, using PPE correctly, reporting hazards and incidents, and stopping any task they believe to be unsafe.
5. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Appropriate PPE — including hard hats, coveralls, safety footwear, eye and hearing protection, and gas detection where required — is mandatory on all rig sites and must be worn correctly at all times in designated areas. Westoceanic Services supplies certified PPE to deployed personnel and verifies compliance through site inspections.
6. Incident Reporting & Investigation
All incidents, near-misses, and hazardous conditions must be reported immediately to the site supervisor and Westoceanic Services management. Incidents are investigated to identify root causes, and corrective actions are tracked to close-out and shared across operations to prevent recurrence.
7. Emergency Response
Personnel are trained on site-specific emergency response procedures, including muster points, evacuation routes, and communication protocols, before commencing work at any location. Emergency drills are conducted in line with client and regulatory requirements.
8. Training & Competency
All personnel undergo HSE induction before deployment and role-specific competency training relevant to their assignment. Training records are maintained and refreshed in line with certification validity periods and client requirements.
9. Environmental Commitment
We are committed to minimizing waste, preventing pollution, and complying with environmental regulations applicable to drilling support operations, including proper handling and disposal of materials used on site.
10. Management Commitment
This policy is endorsed by Westoceanic Services' management and is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains effective and aligned with evolving regulatory and client requirements.
